Final Rites of Nurse Killed in Thukkuguda Held at Choutigudem Village

The final rites of a 21-year-old nurse who was killed at Thukkuguda in Hyderabad were performed at her native village of Choutigudem in Mulakalapally mandal of Bhadradri-Kothagudem district on Monday.

The victim's body arrived in Choutigudem by ambulance from Hyderabad on Monday afternoon. Family members who had travelled to Hyderabad upon receiving news of her death brought her body back to the village for the last rites. The funeral took place at the local graveyard following customary traditions, with her brother performing the final rituals.

The tragic incident cast a deep pall of gloom over Choutigudem as residents gathered to bid farewell. Coming from an underprivileged family, the young nurse had pursued her education through government residential institutions. She completed her schooling up to Class X at the Tribal Welfare Residential School located in Ankampalem, and subsequently finished her Intermediate education at the Government Residential Junior College in Bhadrachalam.

After completing her school education, she moved to Hyderabad, where she enrolled in and finished a professional nursing course. She had been employed at a private hospital in Hyderabad for the past seven months.

Her family had faced significant hardships following the death of her father a few years ago. Her brother had worked as a labourer to finance and support her education. Immediately upon finishing her nursing studies, she took up the hospital job to provide financial stability to her family.

Villagers in Choutigudem remembered the young nurse for her determination and academic achievements in the face of severe financial distress, expressing grief over her untimely demise.
