Film Nagar Woman Scammed of Rs 31.42 Lakh by UK Visa Consultancy

A 30-year-old woman residing in the Film Nagar neighbourhood of Hyderabad was allegedly defrauded of Rs 31.42 lakh by an overseas consultancy that promised to secure her a UK Skilled Worker Visa and employment abroad. Following the incident, the Jubilee Hills police registered a criminal case and launched an investigation into the alleged fraud.

The complainant had approached Aren Overseas Consultancy to obtain professional assistance for securing a job in the United Kingdom. Representatives of the consultancy, who were identified as Deepti and Rufus Veleti, allegedly assured the Film Nagar resident that they would arrange both a Certificate of Sponsorship and a UK Skilled Worker Visa for her.

Believing the promises made by the consultancy representatives, the victim paid nearly Rs 31.42 lakh. This significant amount of money was paid to the firm in several installments.

However, the promised visa and employment did not materialise. The woman's UK visa application was ultimately rejected by the authorities. Furthermore, the complainant was informed that she had been barred from entering the United Kingdom for a period of 10 years, compounding her severe financial loss.

After realising that she had been cheated of her money and banned from travelling to the UK, the woman lodged a formal complaint. The Jubilee Hills police subsequently booked a case against the consultancy's representatives, Deepti and Rufus Veleti. Police officers are currently investigating the roles of the accused individuals in the alleged visa fraud scam.
