Fernandez Hospital Launches Little Fernz Paediatric Service in Banjara Hills

Fernandez Hospital launched 'Little Fernz', a dedicated paediatric inpatient service, at its Stork Home facility in Banjara Hills on Monday, 6 July 2026. The new service is designed to provide family-centred care, expert paediatric treatment, and short-stay hospitalisation for children facing common medical conditions.

In addition to the Banjara Hills location, the healthcare provider has rolled out the 'Little Fernz' service at its Bogulkunta and Hyderguda facilities in Hyderabad. The initiative targets children who require short hospital stays, close observation, and timely medical intervention. It aims to combine expert paediatric support with the warmth and reassurance that families have traditionally associated with the hospital.

A key highlight of the new service is its family-first approach. The facilities feature mother-friendly rooms, child-focused nursing care, and calm healing spaces designed to make the hospital stay more comfortable for young patients. Furthermore, the units will provide round-the-clock monitoring by the hospital's paediatric team to ensure continuous patient safety.

Speaking on the launch, Dr. Evita Fernandez noted that families have trusted the healthcare institution for over seven decades during some of life's most precious beginnings. She explained that with the introduction of 'Little Fernz', the hospital is building on that established trust by extending its specialized care beyond birth and into the growing years of childhood.

According to Dr. Sunil Pawar, Head of Neonatology and Paediatrics at Fernandez Hospital, the new service units are fully equipped to manage a variety of common childhood conditions. Dr. Pawar specified that the medical teams will handle cases such as fever-related illnesses, gastroenteritis, dehydration, bronchiolitis, asthma exacerbations, febrile seizures, and mild pneumonia.

The hospital, which is widely recognized as a major healthcare facility for pregnant women and newborns, hopes the new dedicated paediatric inpatient service will help address the immediate medical needs of growing children in the local community.
