FATHI Urges Telangana to Hold Extra TG ICET Counselling Round in September

Hyderabad: The Federation of Associations of Telangana Higher Institutions (FATHI) has urged the State government to conduct an additional round of Telangana ICET counselling and postpone B-category admissions for MBA and MCA programmes.
In a letter submitted to TG ICET 2026 admissions convener A Sridevasena, FATHI Chairman Dr N Ramesh Babu and Secretary General KS Ravi Kumar pointed out that multiple universities have delayed the issuance of degree marks memos to students who completed their graduation in the 2025-26 academic year. In addition, several universities were yet to release the results of supplementary examinations.
Due to the absence of these essential academic records, a large number of students willing to participate in the admission process could not get their certificates verified during the second round of counselling, which commenced on August 17.
Meanwhile, the TGCHE has already issued a notification for B-category admissions, stipulating August 29 as the final date for submitting student admission data on the TGCHE web portal.
Emphasising the welfare of affected students, the federation appealed to the authorities to schedule another round of TG ICET counselling during the first week of September. FATHI also requested that the schedule for B-category admissions be moved to the last week of September to ensure candidates who faced academic delays do not lose their admission opportunities.
