Family of Four Dies After Car Plunges into Open Well in Siddipet

A family of four died after their car veered off the road and plunged into an open well on the outskirts of Appannapalli village in Dubbak mandal, Siddipet district, late on Wednesday night.
The deceased have been identified as 30-year-old Dandugula Raju, a sand trader from Balwanthapur, his 25-year-old wife Bhagya, and their two children, four-year-old Nihan and two-year-old Shanvika.
According to police, the family had travelled to Siddipet to attend the 10th-day death ceremony of a relative. The accident occurred while they were driving back home. As the vehicle reached the outskirts of Appannapalli, it went out of control and fell into an open well located along the roadside.
The incident came to light when local residents noticed the vehicle in the well and alerted the police and the fire department. Emergency personnel rushed to the scene and launched a rescue operation.
A crane was deployed to pull the submerged car out of the open well. However, all four occupants were found dead inside the vehicle.
The bodies were retrieved and shifted to the 100-bed Regional Hospital in Dubbak for postmortem examination.
The tragedy has cast a pall of gloom over Balwanthapur village, with grief-stricken relatives and locals gathering as news of the family's demise spread.
