Families of Hyderabad Techies Killed in Dorakunta Bus Crash Demand Action

Grieving families of six passengers killed in a road accident at Dorakunta have demanded stringent action against Fresh Bus Travels, alleging that negligent driving led to the fatal crash. The victims included five software engineers employed across IT companies in Hyderabad who were travelling home for the long weekend.

The crash claimed the lives of five Hyderabad-based IT professionals: Bollipongu Meri Joshna, Suravarapu Shakeena, Konduru Bavanvarsha, Pidikiti Lakshmi, and Chenna Keshavula Nagendra Babu. The sixth victim was identified as Yasarapu Chinni, a tailor.

The software engineers had boarded the bus on Wednesday night following their work shifts, taking advantage of the Rakhi holiday on Friday and the upcoming long weekend to visit their native places in Andhra Pradesh. Among them, Nagendra Babu was travelling to Vijayawada to attend his brother's wedding. Chinni was returning to Telaprolu after visiting her father in Hyderabad, who had recently been injured in a separate road accident.

Heart-rending scenes were witnessed at the mortuary of the Government Hospital in Kodad as relatives gathered to receive the bodies of the victims. Jinnalagadda Salman, the father of Bollipongu Meri Joshna, alleged that the driver's negligence caused the fatal accident. He urged the state government to take stringent action against the bus operator and called for measures to prevent future road tragedies.

Following instructions from the state government, district authorities arranged ambulances to transport the bodies of the deceased from the hospital to their native places in Andhra Pradesh.
