Ex-Khanapur MLA Rekha Naik Booked Over Missing Paddy Worth ₹40.96 Crore

Khanapur police in Nirmal district have registered a criminal case against former MLA Ajmeera Rekha Naik following the alleged misappropriation of government-supplied paddy worth ₹40.96 crore from her rice mill located in Sattenapally village of Khanapur mandal.
The case was registered against ARS Industries, owned by Rekha Naik, based on a complaint lodged by Satyanarayana, the Nirmal District Manager of the Telangana State Civil Supplies Corporation.
Police booked the former legislator under sections 316(2), 316(5), and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), alongside Section 7 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
According to the complaint, Civil Supplies Corporation officials conducted a verification inspection and discovered that government paddy entrusted to the rice mill was missing from the facility premises. The mill had also failed to deliver the required custom-milled rice to the state government for three seasons.
Official records indicate that ARS Industries had been allotted 68,21,640 metric tonnes of paddy during Rabi 2022–23, 7,430.840 metric tonnes during Rabi 2023–24, and 2,413.640 metric tonnes during Rabi 2024–25. During physical verification, officials identified a total deficit of 9,639.962 metric tonnes of government paddy, valued at an estimated ₹40,96,96,847.
