Electoral roll revision begins with house-to-house visits in Jubilee Hills and Telangana

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls commenced across Telangana on Thursday, June 25, 2026, with election officials conducting house-to-house visits. Hyderabad District Election Officer and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner R.V. Karnan inspected the distribution of Enumeration Forms in the Jubilee Hills constituency to mark the start of the exercise.

Under the initiative, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are visiting households to distribute Enumeration Forms, which residents must fill out and return during subsequent visits. The house-to-house visits will continue until July 24, 2026.

According to the Hyderabad District Election Officer, if a house is found locked, the BLOs will place the Enumeration Form at the doorstep. The collection of the completed forms is scheduled to begin after one week, and officials noted that no supporting documents will be collected during this initial phase of the exercise.

The election authority has outlined a clear timeline for the revision. Following the completion of house visits, the draft electoral rolls will be published on July 31, 2026. Citizens can then file claims and objections from July 31 to August 30, 2026. The final electoral roll is scheduled for publication on October 1, 2026.

In other parts of the state, district administrations have also mobilized to oversee the process. In Wanaparthy, District Collector Adarsh Surabhi inspected the distribution process on Thursday and instructed officers to complete the distribution before July 1, while also explaining to electors how to fill out the forms.

In Gadwal, District Collector Rizwanbasha Shaik directed that Booth Level Agents (BLAs) must wear official identity cards when accompanying BLOs during their door-to-door visits.

For citizens wishing to check their status, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Telangana website allows electors to search for their names in the voter list using their EPIC numbers. The portal also provides details of the respective Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), AEROs, and BLOs, alongside access to the historical SIR-2002 electoral roll. Additionally, the Enumeration Forms have been made available online on the Election Commission of India (ECI) website.
