ED Raids Locations in Hyderabad in YS Vivekananda Reddy Murder Laundering Probe

The Enforcement Directorate conducted simultaneous searches across multiple premises in Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh on Friday in connection with a money laundering probe linked to the 2019 murder of former Andhra Pradesh minister and Member of Parliament YS Vivekananda Reddy.
The enforcement operation covered locations linked to YSR Congress Party Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy and his father YS Bhaskar Reddy, alongside properties associated with several other suspects named in the murder case.
Investigating teams from the federal agency also carried out searches at the residences of suspects Sunil Yadav, Devireddy Shivashankar Reddy, and Yerra Gangireddy. In addition, the residence of Dastagiri, an accused who turned approver in the murder case, was searched during the coordinated operation.
The searches commenced in the morning hours and continued across various sites for several hours before concluding in the evening. During the operation, officials reportedly seized and took away two bags containing key documents gathered from the searched premises.
The agency is currently probing the case from money laundering and hawala angles. Officials are examining various financial transactions and related documentation to trace the suspected money trail connected to the murder conspiracy.
Vivekananda Reddy was found murdered at his residence in Pulivendula in Kadapa district on March 15, 2019. The murder case was subsequently handed over to and investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
The Enforcement Directorate has not yet officially disclosed specific details regarding the seized records or the findings from Friday's search operations.
