EAGLE Force Busts Odisha-Hyderabad Drug Ring Following Kukatpally Arrest

The EAGLE Force has dismantled an interstate drug supply network operating between Odisha and Hyderabad after arresting six persons, including a hostel resident in Kukatpally, and apprehending 100 consumers.
Sandeep Shandilya, Director of the EAGLE Force, stated that the broader investigation was triggered by the arrest of Satya Avinash, a 27-year-old residing in a Kukatpally hostel, who was allegedly involved in selling MDMA and LSD.
During police questioning, Avinash tested positive for ganja and explained the digital modus operandi used by the syndicate. He disclosed that he procured the contraband through WhatsApp, executed financial transactions via PhonePe, and received Google Map locations marking specific hidden spots where the drugs were placed for retrieval.
Acting on the intelligence gathered from Avinash, authorities launched an enforcement operation during the intervening night of August 12 and 13. The operation was conducted with the assistance of the Task Force and the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (HNEW).
The individuals arrested during the crackdown have been identified as Sanjya Mari, Kamesh Mari, Dambu Khora, Anasu Khara, and Sethi Rakesh. Law enforcement officials apprehended Sanjya Mari at Upper Karabada Chandaka, Pottangi, located in Koraput district. A sixth suspect involved in the network was identified as a juvenile, who was served a formal notice and released.
Authorities also apprehended 100 consumers linked to the network, which included seven students. Testing revealed that 80 of the consumers tested positive for drugs. Under the orders of a magistrate, 38 individuals have been directed to de-addiction facilities, while the remaining 42 individuals who tested positive are scheduled to be sent to de-addiction centres shortly.
Furthermore, officials stated that 125 other identified consumers connected to the drug network will be dealt with and monitored for rehabilitation.
