EAGLE Force Attaches Rs 6 Crore Assets in Bodhan Alprazolam Trafficking Case

The EAGLE force has attached movable and immovable properties with an estimated market value of Rs 6 crore allegedly acquired through illegal Alprazolam trafficking in Bodhan under the Nizamabad Police Commissionerate. The attachment orders were executed on August 17 and 19 under Section 68(F) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act following confirmation from competent authorities in Chennai and Mumbai.
The enforcement action follows the arrest of 15 accused individuals by the EAGLE force and Bodhan police. Among those apprehended are Amar Singh Deshmukh, Baburao Baswaraj Kadere, and Mallepula Laxman Goud. Investigators had earlier seized 32.5 kg of Alprazolam from the accused network.
According to investigators, the accused, along with their associates and relatives, systematically used the proceeds generated from Alprazolam trafficking to purchase multiple assets. The identified properties linked to three main accused persons, their relatives, and associates include 9.06 acres of agricultural land, 1,370 square yards of open plots, a chemical factory, four cars, and two two-wheelers.
Prior to issuing the attachment orders, officials examined ownership records and supporting documentation. These included revenue passbooks, registered sale deeds, property tax receipts, municipal building permissions, vehicle registration certificates, and purchase invoices. While the official government valuation of the attached assets was pegged at around Rs 2.5 crore, the prevailing market value was assessed at approximately Rs 6 crore.
The investigation also established connections between the illicit Alprazolam distribution network and the adulteration of toddy across neighbouring areas. In separate cases registered at Nasrullabad and Gandhari police stations in Kamareddy district, operators of illegal toddy depots allegedly mixed Alprazolam to adulterate the beverage.
Consuming the contaminated toddy caused several individuals to fall critically ill, with some victims losing consciousness. Medical teams treated 68 victims in the Nasrullabad jurisdiction and 15 victims in the Gandhari area. Police and excise authorities have registered cases under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act and the Telangana Excise Act.
