Dutch Woman Files Sexual Harassment Case Against Boyfriend's Roommate in Gachibowli

The Gachibowli police have registered a sexual harassment case against a man accused of repeatedly harassing his roommate’s girlfriend, a national from the Netherlands, during her stay at an apartment in Kondapur. The complaint was lodged earlier this month regarding incidents that took place when the victim travelled to the city in March.
According to the police, the Dutch woman had travelled to Hyderabad in March to visit her boyfriend, who resides in the Kondapur neighbourhood. During her stay at the Kondapur residence, her boyfriend's roommate allegedly subjected her to persistent harassment. In her complaint, the woman stated that the suspect repeatedly stalked her, stared at her inappropriately, and engaged in objectionable behaviour inside the apartment, leaving her traumatised.
The complainant also alleged that the suspect attempted to touch her without her consent, ogled at her, and subjected her to verbal harassment on multiple occasions inside the flat. Following these incidents, the victim formally approached the Gachibowli police earlier this month to file an official complaint regarding her experience.
Upon receiving the complaint, the Gachibowli police registered a case against the suspect under Section 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which specifically deals with sexual harassment offences. Police officials confirmed that a formal investigation has been launched based on the facts outlined in the woman's statement.
Law enforcement authorities have not publicly disclosed the identity of the suspect as investigators are currently attempting to trace his location. Police officials confirmed that the suspect is currently absconding, and his mobile phone has been switched off, complicating initial efforts to establish contact.
Gachibowli police officials stated that dedicated efforts are actively underway to track down, locate, and apprehend the fleeing suspect. Investigators are continuing their probe into the allegations made by the complainant while working to bring the absconding roommate into custody.
