Drug Suspect Escapes Narsingi Police Custody Hours After Alkapuri Township Arrest

A 30-year-old suspected drug peddler escaped from the Narsingi police station lock-up on the night of June 29, only hours after being arrested during a raid at a lodge in Alkapuri Township. The escape of the accused, identified as Syed Mohammed Muzaffar Ali, has triggered an intensive police manhunt across the area.
Earlier that evening, joint teams from the Eagle Force and the Narsingi police conducted a targeted raid on Zestora Lodge, which is located in Alkapuri Township. During the operation, law enforcement officers reportedly caught Muzaffar Ali red-handed while he was actively packing hashish oil into small five-gram containers intended for retail sale.
The police operation resulted in the recovery and seizure of 944 grams of hashish oil. Officials estimated the value of the seized narcotics to be approximately Rs 4 lakh. Following the successful drug bust, the police custody team transported Muzaffar Ali, who is a resident of Golconda, to the Narsingi police station for further legal proceedings.
However, the suspect managed to flee from the police station lock-up later that same night. Following his escape from custody, authorities registered two new criminal cases against Muzaffar Ali, and a search operation was immediately launched to locate him.
According to law enforcement officials, Muzaffar Ali is a repeat offender who was already facing multiple charges. He was previously named as an accused in three separate cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Those prior cases had been registered against him by excise authorities in Film Nagar, Rajendranagar, and Ghatkesar.
The raid on June 29 was the result of a prolonged investigation. Acting on intelligence that Muzaffar Ali was procuring hashish oil from a supplier based in Visakhapatnam and distributing it to customers in Hyderabad, Eagle Force sleuths had monitored his activities for more than two months before coordinating with the Narsingi police to make the arrest.
