Driver of Former Minister Konda Surekha's Ex-OSD Arrested in Tellapur

Police in Hyderabad on Sunday arrested the driver of former Endowments Minister Konda Surekha's former Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Sumanth, in connection with an alleged assault and extortion case near Sumanth's residence in Tellapur.

The arrest followed a formal complaint lodged by a real estate businessman. According to the complainant, a group of persons attacked him with iron rods and issued threats against him while demanding an extortion amount of Rs 10 crore.

Following the complaint, law enforcement authorities registered a case against Sumanth and five other individuals identified as Prashanth, Ramu, Karthik, Arun Kumar Reddy, and Mahender Reddy. The suspects have been booked under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Police officials stated that the driver was taken into custody in the vicinity of Sumanth's residence in Tellapur as part of the ongoing investigation into the assault and extortion allegations.

Investigators are currently gathering further evidence and collecting details regarding the sequence of events and the individuals involved in the incident. Police sources confirmed that the investigation remains active.
