An 11-year-old girl sustained severe injuries on Tuesday after being struck by a speeding autorickshaw near the Yadav Bhavan Hotel in the Hydershahkote area of Narsingi, a suburb of Hyderabad. The victim, identified as Sriharika, was hit just as she was stepping out of her house. The incident led to the subsequent arrest of the autorickshaw driver, Arbaz, by the Narsingi police after they successfully traced the vehicle.

According to the local police, the collision occurred when the speeding autorickshaw hit Sriharika near her residence. The impact of the vehicle caused the young girl to suffer a severe head injury, alongside multiple other injuries across her body. Following the accident, she was immediately shifted to a nearby private hospital, where she is currently undergoing medical treatment for her severe injuries.

The Narsingi police initiated an investigation immediately after the accident was reported. To identify the vehicle and the driver responsible for the crash, police officers scanned and analyzed closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from cameras installed around the Hydershahkote area. The CCTV footage helped the police successfully trace the specific autorickshaw involved in the accident.

Acting on the leads obtained from the video footage, the Narsingi police managed to track down and arrest the driver, Arbaz, at around midnight on Tuesday. Along with apprehending the driver, the police officers also seized the autorickshaw involved in the accident and registered a formal case against him.

As part of the investigation, the police also conducted a drunk-driving test on Arbaz. The test was administered to determine whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. The victim remains in the private hospital receiving treatment for her injuries.
