DGP CV Anand Directs Tech-Driven Policing and Rewards Gachibowli Officer

During a statewide review meeting on Friday, Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand directed officers to adopt technology-driven, people-centric policing and strengthen road safety, while presenting an award to Naresh of the Gachibowli Police Station for cracking a Nepalese burglars' gang.
The meeting, held at the DGP Office in Hyderabad, was attended by police commissioners, Superintendents of Police (SPs), Station House Officers (SHOs), and unit officers. DGP Anand reviewed several key areas, including the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS), visible policing, field visits, station inspections, narcotics control, and road accident prevention.
DGP Anand instructed officers to remain highly accessible to the public and strictly enforce visiting hours at police stations. He emphasized that unit officers must function from their regular offices rather than camp offices. Additionally, he warned officers to avoid unnecessary interference in civil disputes, such as land issues, and to remain vigilant against misinformation and rumors on social media.
Technology utilization was a major focus of the review. The DGP urged officers to fully leverage tools like the CCTNS, e-Sakshya, and the Lathi App. Currently, CCTNS updates have reached 60 to 70 percent statewide, with Adilabad, Rajanna Sircilla, and Jayashankar Bhupalpally districts leading. For e-Sakshya usage, Bhupalpally recorded 55 percent, followed by Siddipet at 39 percent and Nalgonda at 31 percent. Kamareddy and Wanaparthy topped e-summons implementation at 92.86 percent and 92 percent, respectively.
Addressing cybercrime, DGP Anand noted that nearly 70 percent of cybercrime cases originate within the four Hyderabad commissionerates. He directed faster registration and investigation of these cases, alongside continuous technical training for officers.
Regarding narcotics, the DGP called for intensified action and the effective implementation of Anti-Drugs and Safety Committees in educational institutions, noting that the EAGLE unit has already counseled and rehabilitated 825 students.
On road safety, DGP Anand highlighted that the 'Arrive Alive' initiative has successfully reduced road accident fatalities across the state. He directed officers to conduct intensified vehicle checks and ensure faster emergency responses, revealing that the government plans to integrate the 112 emergency response system with drone technology.
Alongside Naresh of Gachibowli, several other officers were rewarded for outstanding service. These included SI Anwar Begum of Metpally Police Station for saving a suicidal man; CI Ramakant, K. Naveen Kumar, and CI Srinivas for securing convictions in the Boyinpally murder case; CI Sridhar and Venkataraja Goud for securing a life imprisonment conviction in the Shivampet murder case; and Head Constable Vishnu of Nalgonda for arresting a most-wanted accused.
