DGP C.V. Anand Directs Reorganisation of Police Station Limits in Four Commissionerates

On Thursday, Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand directed the police chiefs of Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Malkajgiri, and Future City to complete the reorganization of police station jurisdictions. The restructuring aims to align station boundaries with municipal bodies, revenue divisions, and courts, resolving administrative confusion stemming from previously incomplete government orders.

The high-level meeting was attended by Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, Future City Police Commissioner Tarun Joshi, Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dr. M. Ramesh, and Malkajgiri Police Commissioner B. Sumathi, alongside joint commissioners and other senior officers.

During Thursday’s meeting, the police commissioners presented detailed proposals relating to the reorganization of police stations, territorial jurisdiction, administrative requirements, and other related issues. The reorganization follows government orders issued in December of last year. The incomplete execution of certain aspects of those orders had previously led to operational confusion across the various commissionerates.

Emphasizing the need for long-term planning, DGP Anand stated that rapid urban expansion, population growth, and administrative requirements must be taken into account while restructuring the police station jurisdictions. He also instructed the officials to ensure that the views of all stakeholders are considered during the restructuring process.

The DGP issued specific directions regarding the determination of police station limits in certain areas of Hyderabad. He stressed that the new boundaries should be finalized in a manner that would avoid causing inconvenience to the public, government departments, and the judiciary. After detailed discussions, Anand finalized the disputes and field issues and got them incorporated into the proposals.

Anand reiterated that the reorganization of police stations should strengthen people-centric and efficient policing. He stated that the final goal of the exercise is to improve the delivery of police services to the public.
