Danam Nagender Warns Officials Over Indiramma Towers Draw in Banjara Hills

Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender expressed strong anger at Housing Department officials on Saturday after they conducted a lucky draw for Indiramma Towers housing beneficiaries in Banjara Hills before his arrival.

The draw of lots took place at the Kumram Bheem Adivasi Bhavan in Banjara Hills to select beneficiaries for the Indiramma Towers housing scheme. However, department officials commenced the official proceedings and concluded the draw without waiting for the local legislator to reach the venue.

Nagender took strong exception to the conduct of the officials, questioning why protocol was disregarded. He asked what purpose an MLA served in a constituency if government departments held official selection programmes and made announcements entirely in their absence.

In a video clip circulating on social media, the MLA confronted the officials over their actions at the venue. Nagender questioned whether the officials had any respect for an elected MLA and warned that he would issue a privilege notice against them for proceeding without him.

Following the confrontation, Nagender spoke directly to the gathered applicants who did not secure houses through the draw of lots. He urged the unsuccessful applicants to come to his office and promised that he would ensure allotments for everyone who approached him.

Assuring the crowd that he would take up their cause aggressively with the concerned authorities, the MLA told applicants that he would secure their allotments before leaving the Kumram Bheem Adivasi Bhavan.
