Danam Nagender Accuses BJP of Manipulating Hyderabad Electoral Rolls

On Wednesday, Congress MLA and former minister Danam Nagender accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to manipulate electoral rolls in Hyderabad by deleting genuine voters and adding bogus ones. The allegations were made in relation to the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in the state.

According to Nagender, the BJP has been protecting voters affiliated with their own party while systematically removing the names of other citizens during the revision exercise. He asserted that the Congress party would take steps to ensure that the names of all genuine voters remain on the electoral rolls.

"Voting is a fundamental right," Nagender said. "How can the BJP delete voters' names without properly examining the merits and demerits of the portal? They want a double-engine government and are trying to include bogus votes. That is not going to happen in Telangana."

To address these concerns, Nagender announced that the Congress party is mobilizing its Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to conduct a comprehensive door-to-door verification process. The party has already obtained the official electoral rolls to facilitate this verification effort.

Nagender stated that the door-to-door campaign would serve a dual purpose. While its primary goal is to protect genuine voters and question any wrongful deletions, the initiative will also identify duplicate entries. He confirmed that if any individual is found to have more than one vote, those duplicate entries will be deleted.

"As a responsible leader and a responsible citizen of India, it is my duty to protect genuine voters," Nagender said, reiterating his commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the election process.
