Damodar Rajanarsimha Reviews Seasonal Diseases Preparedness in Telangana

HYDERABAD — Telangana Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha reviewed the seasonal disease situation and hospital services across the state during an official review meeting held in Hyderabad on Saturday.

During the meeting with concerned health officials, the Minister evaluated the ongoing preventive measures against seasonal illnesses and enquired about the medical services being provided to patients admitted to government hospitals.

In light of the rising number of seasonal influenza cases reported in other states, including Delhi and Maharashtra, Minister Rajanarsimha instructed health department authorities to closely monitor Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) cases across Telangana.

He further directed officials to strengthen disease surveillance, heighten preventive interventions, and maintain high levels of preparedness in all government healthcare facilities.

As part of the preventive drive, the Minister emphasized the need to intensify fever surveys and scale up mosquito-control activities to prevent outbreaks.

Health officials briefed the Minister during the review that the seasonal influenza situation in Telangana is currently fully under control. They confirmed that all necessary testing reagents and medical supplies are readily available at state health facilities.
