Cyberabad SHE Teams Nab 18 in 109 Decoy Operations Over One Week

The Cyberabad SHE Teams conducted 109 decoy operations across Cyberabad in Hyderabad between August 15 and August 21, apprehending 18 individuals caught engaging in indecent acts in public spaces.

Following these decoy checks, the police registered 17 petty cases against the accused individuals. Officials also conducted counselling sessions for those against whom the cases were booked.

During the week-long period, the SHE Teams received 25 complaints from women through various communication channels. Action was initiated on these complaints, resulting in the registration of three petty cases, while the remaining individuals involved in the matters were sent for counselling.

In related enforcement efforts, the Cyberabad Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) rescued two victims and arrested four persons in connection with two cases booked under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA). The unit also took action under the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act, rescuing two boys and apprehending two accused persons.

Beyond direct enforcement, police teams focused on dispute resolution. Interventions undertaken at the Family Counselling centres resulted in the reunification of 32 families who were involved in marital disputes.

To curb offences and build community awareness, the AHTU and SHE Teams organised outreach programmes across multiple locations in Cyberabad. A total of 4,974 members participated in these sessions, where they received information on human trafficking, eve-teasing, social media harassment, child marriage, child rights, child labour, stalking, cyberbullying, and cyber fraud.
