Cyberabad Police Review Monsoon Traffic Plans and Kukatpally Infrastructure Projects

On Monday, Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh chaired a virtual review meeting to implement a monsoon traffic plan aimed at minimizing traffic disruptions and waterlogging, which included reviewing the progress of key infrastructure works at the Kukatpally Y-Junction.
The meeting, conducted from the mini-conference hall at the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate, focused on proactive measures to ensure smooth vehicle movement across the region during the rainy season.
During the meeting, Commissioner Ramesh directed officials to continuously monitor waterlogging-prone areas and coordinate immediately with concerned departments to resolve issues. To support these efforts, the department is deploying approximately 150 specialized personnel from the Greyhounds and OCTOPUS units for traffic duties across various police stations.
The Commissioner reviewed the performance, responsibilities, and response strategies of these deployed personnel. He issued guidelines for their effective utilization and suggested measures to improve their efficiency in public service delivery and traffic regulation during the monsoon.
To improve traffic flow, the Commissioner ordered strict action against motorists driving against the flow of traffic or obstructing free left turns and U-turns at junctions. He also instructed the installation of special barricades at necessary locations.
Additionally, the plan calls for the creation of a comprehensive master document identifying waterlogging-prone locations to find permanent solutions. The Commissioner directed that traffic police must be consulted and diversion plans implemented before any road-cutting works are initiated.
As part of the civic coordination, Commissioner Ramesh reviewed the progress of ongoing infrastructure works at several key junctions, including Kukatpally Y-Junction, Miyapur, Nizampet, Wipro Junction, DLF Junction, and Shapoor Nagar. He directed the concerned officials to expedite these projects to prevent further traffic disruptions.
The virtual meeting was attended by SCSC CEO Naved, Traffic Administration Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Narendar, Madhapur Traffic Assistant Commissioner of Police Chandrashekhar Reddy, along with various Traffic Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), ADCPs, ACPs, and Station House Officers.
