Cyberabad Police Rescue 146 Children and Arrest 33 in Week-Long Safety Drive

The Cyberabad Women and Child Safety Wing executed a series of coordinated operations across the Cyberabad commissionerate limits between July 3 and July 9, 2026, resulting in the rescue of 146 children and the apprehension of 33 individuals. The week-long enforcement drive aimed to tackle public indecency, child labor, and domestic disputes, utilizing multiple specialized units within the police department.

Under the umbrella of Operation Muskaan, the Cyberabad Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) conducted extensive rescue operations. These efforts led to the rescue of 146 children, which included 144 boys and two girls. In connection with these rescues, the AHTU registered 30 cases related to violations of the Juvenile Justice Act and child labour laws. Police officials confirmed that the rescued children were provided with all necessary support, and further legal action was initiated against those responsible for the violations.

In a parallel effort to ensure women's safety in public spaces, the Cyberabad SHE Teams carried out proactive policing measures. The teams conducted a total of 114 decoy operations across various areas within the commissionerate limits. These operations resulted in the apprehension of 33 individuals who were found indulging in indecent acts in public places. The SHE Teams registered 34 petty cases against the offenders, while those who were not prosecuted were subjected to counseling sessions. The teams also received and processed 13 complaints directly from women through multiple communication channels during the week-long drive.

The safety wing also addressed domestic issues through its family counseling initiatives. By utilizing the resources of local family counselling centres and the Crime against Women and Children (CDEW) centres, officials successfully facilitated the reunion of 21 estranged couples. Through structured counseling, these couples were encouraged to resolve their differences and reunite, marking a successful end to the week's comprehensive enforcement and community outreach efforts.
