Cyberabad Police Deploy 150 Greyhounds Personnel For IT Corridor Traffic Duty

On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh directed 150 newly trained Greyhounds police personnel to step up traffic enforcement and public awareness efforts across the Cyberabad Commissionerate, with a particular focus on Hyderabad's high-traffic IT corridor. The directive came immediately after the personnel completed a week-long special training program designed to enhance road safety and manage traffic flow in the city.

During an interaction with the 150 personnel on Tuesday, Commissioner Ramesh reviewed the concepts covered during their training. He briefed the officers on effective traffic management, proper traffic control procedures, and the necessity of courteous interaction with the public to strengthen community trust.

The intensive training program included both indoor and outdoor sessions. It covered key areas such as traffic management, traffic engineering, and relevant legal provisions. The personnel were specifically trained to target and enforce violations that continue to pose major challenges on city roads, such as riding without helmets, wrong-side driving, lane indiscipline, and drunk driving.

Highlighting the need for strict enforcement, Commissioner Ramesh instructed the personnel to take legal action against individuals who obstruct police officers while they are performing their traffic duties. Alongside enforcement, he stressed the importance of educating motorists about traffic regulations to help prevent road accidents.

Pointing to the heavy traffic volumes characteristic of Hyderabad’s IT corridor, the Commissioner asked the personnel to remain highly alert while managing traffic in these busy areas. He also directed them to prepare for additional operational challenges during the upcoming monsoon season, ensuring that traffic movement remains smooth without causing inconvenience to commuters.

Emphasising the human cost of road accidents, Commissioner Ramesh urged the officers to actively promote responsible driving habits and provide immediate assistance to members of the public whenever required. He concluded by stating that professional conduct and a service-oriented approach would help strengthen public trust in the police.
