Cyberabad Police Announce 90 Day Road Closure Near IIIT Junction in Gachibowli

The Cyberabad Traffic Police have announced major traffic curbs and road closures in Gachibowli starting July 1, 2026, to facilitate ongoing infrastructure work. The road stretch extending from DLF Gate No. 1 to the Gachibowli Traffic Police Station will be closed to regular traffic for a period of 90 days. This temporary closure is part of the ongoing construction of a multi-level flyover and underpass at the busy IIIT Junction.
While the specific road closure is scheduled to last for 90 days, officials noted that the overall construction of the multi-level flyover and underpass is expected to continue for nearly a year. Depending on the progress of the construction and the availability of physical space, authorities may partially reopen the closed stretch in phases over the three-month period.
To manage the anticipated traffic flow, the Cyberabad Police have issued a detailed traffic advisory outlining several key diversions. Under the new plan, commuters traveling from the Radisson Hotel towards the IIIT Junction will only be permitted to drive as far as DLF Gate No. 1. From that point, the traffic will be diverted, and drivers are advised to take alternative routes that run through Gachibowli Junction and Indiranagar.
Similarly, vehicles coming from the direction of Lingampally and heading towards DLF Road will face diversions. This traffic will be redirected at the Gachibowli Traffic Police Station. Commuters will need to travel via the IIIT Junction and Gachibowli Junction to reach their final destinations.
Traffic officials have acknowledged that the extensive construction activity is highly likely to cause significant congestion in and around the IIIT Junction area. Daily commuters, particularly the large number of IT employees who work in the vicinity, are being strongly urged by authorities to plan their daily travel well in advance and to utilize the suggested alternative routes.
The Cyberabad Traffic Police have requested cooperation from the general public and local commuters to help ensure a smooth traffic flow and minimize delays during this intensive construction period.
