Cyberabad Commissioner Reviews Civic Issues in Pragathi Nagar Ward

The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner conducted a comprehensive review of civic infrastructure and public grievances in the Pragathi Nagar Ward, located within the Nizampet Circle of the Quthbullapur Zone in Hyderabad. The joint inspection was carried out as part of the municipal corporation's ongoing 'One Ward Every Day' programme.
The Commissioner was accompanied during the visit by the Zonal Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner, and several other municipal officials. The primary objective of the visit was to assess the ground-level situation of public amenities and interact directly with local residents and representatives of Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) to understand their daily challenges.
During the interaction, the Commissioner issued strict directives to the accompanying officials to prioritize the resolution of critical drainage and sewage issues. The officials were instructed to take immediate measures to tackle drainage overflows, sewage discharge, and waterlogging, particularly in the low-lying areas of Pragathi Nagar.
The inspection team also reviewed several other infrastructure needs in the ward. This included assessing measures to improve street lighting, repair potholes, and restore damaged roads to ensure smoother commutes. The team also discussed strategies to enhance traffic safety, remove road encroachments, and improve the overall flow of traffic in the area.
Furthermore, the maintenance of recreational spaces was highlighted during the review. The Commissioner and officials examined the state of local parks, walking tracks, children's play equipment, and other public amenities to ensure they are properly maintained for the residents.
Local residents and RWA representatives took the opportunity to raise several other pressing concerns. These included issues related to general sanitation, mosquito control, stray dog management, and the improvement of community facilities. The residents also requested upgrades to burial ground infrastructure and better public transport amenities in the locality.
Following the detailed review, the Commissioner instructed the concerned department officials to take appropriate and immediate measures to address all the highlighted civic grievances at the earliest.
