CWC Directs Revanth Reddy to Prepare Education and Exam Reform Plan for Telangana

The Congress Working Committee (CWC) on Wednesday directed Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to formulate comprehensive reforms in the education sector and examination system to prevent question paper leaks and align schooling with global market requirements.
The directive was issued during a CWC meeting held in New Delhi, where All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi addressed chief ministers from party-governed states, including Telangana, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and Kerala.
The chief ministers were instructed to consult a broad range of stakeholders, including education experts, student organisations, and Gen Z youth, before drafting state-specific reform proposals. The CWC set a one-month deadline for the chief ministers to submit their comprehensive reports directly to the party president.
During the deliberations, Revanth Reddy outlined the education-related measures already implemented in Telangana under his administration. He highlighted the overhaul of the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) and the subsequent conduct of Group examinations without disruptions.
The Chief Minister also noted other state initiatives, including the introduction of pre-primary education—comprising Nursery, Lower Kindergarten (LKG), and Upper Kindergarten (UKG)—in government schools. Additionally, he cited the provision of free breakfast and lunch programmes for government school students across Telangana.
Following the discussions, the CWC resolved to sustain its student outreach campaign, titled "Chhatron ki Goonj," by organising upcoming events and interactive programmes across major cities and towns in Telangana.
