CSIR IICT Director Dr D Srinivasa Reddy Awarded Prestigious CRSI Silver Medal

Dr D Srinivasa Reddy, the Director of the Hyderabad-based CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT), has been conferred the prestigious CRSI Silver Medal. The Chemical Research Society of India (CRSI) presented the honor to Dr Reddy in recognition of his outstanding contributions to chemical research, medicinal chemistry, and scientific leadership. The announcement was made public through an official press release issued on Monday, July 6, 2026.

As an internationally acclaimed organic chemist, Dr Reddy has dedicated his career to advancing the scientific field. The CSIR-IICT highlighted that his pioneering research in natural product synthesis, medicinal chemistry, and drug discovery has significantly pushed forward the frontiers of chemical sciences.

In addition to his research, Dr Reddy has focused on creating practical applications for his work. He has developed multiple impactful technologies that carry significant translational and industrial relevance. His extensive contributions to the scientific community include authoring more than 160 research publications and securing numerous patents for his innovations.

This is not the first major recognition for the CSIR-IICT Director. Dr Reddy is already a recipient of several of the country's most prestigious honors. His past accolades include the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize and the J C Bose National Fellowship. He has also been elected to fellowships of India’s leading science academies in recognition of his work.

The CRSI Silver Medal itself is regarded as one of the most prestigious recognitions in the field. It is specifically conferred to honor scientists who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to chemical sciences through high-quality research and innovation. Within the broader scientific community, the medal is widely held as a mark of distinction, acknowledging exceptional achievements and an enduring impact in chemical research.
