CSIR-IICT and Re Sustainability Partner on Green Technologies in Hyderabad

Hyderabad-based CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT) and Re Sustainability Limited signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Monday to collaborate on advanced research, technology development, scale-up, and commercialisation of sustainable environmental solutions.
The partnership combines the scientific research capabilities of CSIR-IICT, a premier laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, with Re Sustainability’s more than three decades of experience in environmental infrastructure, waste management, circular economy solutions, resource recovery, and industrial sustainability.
Through this collaboration, the two organisations intend to accelerate the development and deployment of technologies aimed at tackling pressing environmental challenges while supporting India’s broader shift toward a resource-efficient, low-carbon, and circular economy.
Under the terms of the agreement, both entities will jointly conduct research, technology development, pilot-scale validation, and commercialisation across multiple strategic sectors. These focus areas include the chemical and advanced recycling of plastic waste, waste-to-value technologies, resource recovery, sustainable materials, bio-based and green chemical processes, industrial wastewater treatment, environmental remediation, and carbon capture, utilisation, and decarbonisation technologies.
The MoU was formally signed by CSIR-IICT director D. Srinivas Reddy and Re Sustainability CEO and managing director Masood Mallick.
Speaking on the collaboration, Mr. Mallick stated in a press release that the initiative creates a platform to develop and commercialise transformative technologies that will influence the future of waste management, circular economy practices, resource recovery, and climate action, while delivering measurable impacts for industries, communities, and future generations.
