CRPF Second Signal Battalion Marks 58th Foundation Day at Chandrayangutta

The Second Signal Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) celebrated its 58th Foundation Day at the CRPF Group Centre in Chandrayangutta on Monday. The unit is responsible for providing critical communication support to formations deployed across southern India and other regions.

The three-day celebrations featured a mela with various stalls set up for jawans and their families, alongside cultural programmes highlighting the diversity of the force. As part of the event, retired personnel of the Signal Battalions living in and around Hyderabad were felicitated for their meritorious service.

The felicitation ceremony was followed by a Sainik Sammelan and a dinner hosted for veterans. In addition, a voluntary blood donation camp was organised on the occasion, drawing active participation from officers and personnel in large numbers.

The battalion was originally raised on September 1, 1968, at Rampur in Uttar Pradesh and subsequently relocated to Hyderabad in 1971. Since moving to the city, the battalion has delivered secure and uninterrupted communication services to CRPF formations operating across multiple states and union territories, including the southern states, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Puducherry, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, and Maharashtra.

During the anniversary events, the battalion reaffirmed its commitment to delivering modern and robust communication support during anti-Naxal operations, law-and-order duties, disaster response missions, and election security, while contributing to regional peace and development.
