Crompton to Set Up Rs 375-Crore Fan Manufacturing Facility at Maheshwaram

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd is set to establish a mega fan manufacturing facility at E-City in Maheshwaram, located near the Hyderabad international airport, with an investment of Rs 375 crore. Telangana IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu announced the development on Monday, confirming that the state government has allotted 50 acres of land to the company for the project.

The upcoming facility is slated to become the world's largest fan manufacturing unit, according to the minister. It is designed to reach an annual production capacity of 1.4 crore units once operating at full scale. Besides fans, the mega unit will also produce various other home and kitchen appliances.

The project is scheduled to hold its groundbreaking ceremony on Vijayadashmi, with commercial operations expected to commence next year.

According to the proposal submitted by Crompton Greaves to the Telangana government, the plant's development will be executed across multiple phases. The first phase will center on the production of induction fans and brushless direct current (BLDC) ceiling fans, alongside table, wall, and pedestal models.

In the second phase, the company proposes to expand its production lines into manufacturing pumps and mixer grinders. The subsequent phase will also see the establishment of an on-site centralized motor plant to support operations across the unit.
