The upcoming crime comedy 'Baa Baa Black Sheep' is scheduled to release in theatres on October 9 to coincide with the Dussehra festival season, the makers announced in Hyderabad.
Produced by Venu Donepudi under the Chitralayam Studios banner and directed by Guni Manikanti, the film blends crime and comedy through a cast of eccentric characters caught in unexpected situations. The ensemble includes Tinnu Anand, Upendra Limaye, Subhalekha Sudhakar, George Maryan, Akshay Lagusani, Vishnu Oi, Karthikeya, Vismayasri, Malvi Malhotra, and Raja Ravindra.
According to the production team, 'Baa Baa Black Sheep' is the first South Indian feature film shot entirely in Meghalaya. The crew travelled across multiple scenic destinations in the northeastern state, including Cherrapunji, to capture its natural backdrops.
Musical promotions for the project commenced with the release of the first lyrical track, 'Aaja Meri Jaani', which was launched by music composer Devi Sri Prasad. The lively party track features Akshay Lagusani and Vishnu Oi, with music composed by Electronic Kili and Anand (Arkado), lyrics by Kittu Vissapragada, and vocals by Benny Dayal.
Producer Venu Donepudi noted that the storyline centres around an intriguing incident and stated that post-production work is currently nearing completion as the team prepares for the Dussehra theatrical launch.
