Congress to launch electoral roll revision drive in Adilabad starting July 19

The Congress party is scheduled to launch a series of village-level awareness meetings across Adilabad district starting July 19, with the inaugural campaign meeting set to take place in Bharampur village of the Talamadugu mandal. This initiative is designed to educate the public regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and to ensure that every eligible citizen is enrolled in the voter lists.

According to Adilabad District Congress Committee (DCC) president Naresh Jadhav, these upcoming village-level programmes build upon the foundation laid during the previous month. Last month, the party successfully conducted specialized booth-level training programmes specifically for its Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to prepare them for this district-wide exercise.

The push for this campaign comes directly from the party's central leadership. Jadhav stated that the Congress party high command, along with the All India Congress Committee (AICC) Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, had issued clear instructions to local leaders. They have been directed to actively participate in the ongoing SIR process and to lead these awareness campaigns at the grassroots level.

In addition to educating the public, Congress leaders and workers have been tasked with monitoring and reporting on the progress of the electoral revision. Under the guidance of the party leadership, they will submit detailed reports concerning booth-level voter mapping, digitisation of records, and the final enrolment numbers.

The launch of the drive in Bharampur village on July 19 will initiate a broader effort across Adilabad district. The Congress party aims to ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral rolls through these systematic, booth-level interventions.
