Congress MPs Meet Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Over Telangana Rail Projects

Congress Members of Parliament from Telangana met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday to push for the speedy execution of pending railway infrastructure projects and essential public amenities across the state.

The delegation comprised Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Mallu Ravi, and Suresh Shetkar. The leaders discussed overall railway infrastructure development in Telangana, seeking the intervention of the Ministry of Railways to address long-pending demands.

Focusing on regional infrastructure, Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna specifically brought up the progress of the proposed Ramagundam–Manuguru railway line. The estimated cost of this proposed rail project stands at around ₹4,000 crore.

Vamsi Krishna requested details regarding the present status of the project. He emphasized that the proposed Ramagundam–Manuguru railway line is vital for driving industrial growth, commercial activity, and transport development across the Ramagundam, Peddapalli, and Mancherial regions.

Responding to the query, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw gave a positive response, according to Vamsi Krishna. The Union Minister informed the delegation that the work on the Ramagundam–Manuguru railway line was moving forward rapidly.

Beyond the major rail line project, Vamsi Krishna also raised issues regarding already sanctioned Road Over Bridges (ROBs) and Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) within the Peddapalli parliamentary constituency.

The MP highlighted that despite continuous follow-ups over the past two years, the execution of these bridge projects remains delayed due to delays in the release of funds.

Furthermore, Vamsi Krishna pointed out that waterlogging at construction sites was causing public inconvenience and posing risks to residents. He urged the Union Railway Minister to take immediate action to resolve these issues and expedite the execution of all pending works.
