Congress High Command Asks Endowments Minister Konda Surekha to Resign

The Congress high command has asked Telangana Endowments Minister Konda Surekha to resign from her ministerial post in Hyderabad. Party leadership has also chalked out plans to dismiss her from the Cabinet if she fails to tender her resignation.
The high command's directive came after the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) disciplinary committee recommended stringent action against Surekha. The panel sought her removal from the state Cabinet following controversial statements attributed to her family.
According to the disciplinary committee, the action was prompted by "anti-Chief Minister" and "anti-Congress" remarks made by Surekha's daughter. Taking note of the statements, the committee initiated internal scrutiny regarding the breach of party discipline.
The disciplinary committee, headed by Chairman Mallu Ravi, officially compiled its findings and submitted a formal report containing the recommendations to TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud on Tuesday.
The report explicitly recommended the removal of Surekha from the Cabinet, prompting the central party leadership to act and call for her immediate resignation.
