Congress Groups Clash in Mansoorabad Over Flex Banner Photo Dispute

Tension escalated in the Mansoorabad and LB Nagar areas of Hyderabad on Monday, 13 July 2026, after supporters of rival Congress factions clashed over the design of promotional flex banners. The violent confrontation, which involved stone-pelting and attempted attacks with sticks, required immediate police intervention to disperse the crowds and restore order in the locality.
The clash broke out between the supporters of Youth Congress president Shivcharan Reddy and Yadagirigutta Devasthanam Trust Board member Eshwaramma Yadav. The rivalry between the two groups turned violent when Eshwaramma Yadav's followers allegedly marched to Shivcharan Reddy's residence.
During the incident, the mob pelted stones at the Youth Congress president's house. The attack resulted in property damage, with several windows and glass panes at the residence being broken. The situation quickly worsened as members of both groups gathered and attempted to attack one another using sticks.
Sensing the threat of wider violence, local police rushed to the spots in Mansoorabad and LB Nagar. Officers managed to disperse the clashing groups and bring the immediate tension under control.
The root of the conflict was a dispute regarding promotional flex banners erected to celebrate Eshwaramma Yadav taking her oath as a member of the temple trust board. Shivcharan Reddy had raised strong objections because the banners omitted the photograph of his father, Jakkidi Prabhakar Reddy.
Prior to the physical clash, Shivcharan Reddy had allegedly abused Eshwaramma’s grandson, Suresh Yadav, over the omission. He also reportedly warned that the promotional banners would be damaged if the issue was not addressed.
Following the clash, the political rift took a caste-based turn. Backward Classes (BC) Congress leaders came forward to condemn the incident, criticizing the Youth Congress president for what they described as high-handed behaviour and a confrontational attitude.
