Congress Disciplinary Panel to Act on Konda Sushmitha's Remarks Against CM

The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee and its disciplinary committee have taken a serious view of comments made by Konda Sushmitha against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. Sushmitha is the daughter of Telangana Forest and Endowments Minister Konda Surekha.

The controversy began after Sushmitha addressed a gathering at Geesugonda in Warangal district on Wednesday during birthday celebrations organised by supporters for her mother. Speaking at the event, Sushmitha announced her intention to contest the upcoming elections from the Parkal constituency. She stated that she would contest as an independent candidate if the party high command denied her a ticket, while also making critical remarks against the Chief Minister.

The party leadership expressed strong displeasure over the public statements. TPCC disciplinary committee chairman Mallu Ravi confirmed that the panel has viewed the matter seriously and is preparing to initiate strict action against Sushmitha. Mallu Ravi stated that her remarks were detrimental to the reputation of the Chief Minister and indicated that the committee has decided to seek an explanation from Minister Konda Surekha regarding her daughter's comments.

The issue has also reached the central party leadership. All India Congress Committee Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan inquired into the developments and asked TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud to submit a comprehensive report detailing the incident and the statements made at the Geesugonda event.
