CMC Warns Against Illegal Construction After Fatal Anjaiahnagar Building Collapse

The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation on Tuesday issued a stern warning against unauthorised constructions, stating that illegal building works severely compromise structural safety and place innocent lives at risk. The advisory follows the sudden collapse of an under-construction building in Anjaiahnagar a few days ago, an incident that led to the deaths of two workers.

According to civic authorities, the fatal collapse occurred on a 50-square-yard plot in Anjaiahnagar where construction was underway. The structure gave way suddenly, trapping workers and resulting in two fatalities. The accident prompted the municipal corporation to reiterate building safety protocols and enforce stricter awareness regarding unauthorised developments.

Municipal officials stated that building owners must obtain all required permissions before breaking ground on any construction project. They stressed that owners and developers are obligated to follow established building laws and adhere to safety norms to ensure structural integrity and protect human lives.

Officials highlighted that unauthorised constructions often bypass mandatory engineering and safety standards, making them vulnerable to structural failure and sudden collapse. Bypassing legal approval processes directly endangers laborers on site as well as the general public in surrounding neighborhoods.

The civic body urged residents and developers across Cyberabad to prioritize responsible and compliant building practices to prevent further tragedies and maintain safety standards throughout the region.
