CMC Suspends Zayaka Food Court License in Kondapur Over Rodent Infestation

The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) food safety teams suspended the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) license of Zayaka Food Court, located in the Kondapur area, on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. The municipal authorities ordered the food establishment to close down immediately and remain closed until further notice after detecting serious hygiene and food safety violations during their inspection.

Following the inspection, officials directed the food business operator at the Kondapur venue not to resume any commercial operations under any circumstances. The establishment must remain shut until all the highlighted safety hazards and deficiencies are completely rectified. The business will only be allowed to reopen after a fresh inspection is conducted by the food safety team, all standards are met, and the suspension of the FSSAI license is officially revoked by the authorities.

The inspection of the Zayaka Food Court revealed several alarming food storage practices that posed immediate health risks to consumers. Inspectors discovered food stored inside a non-functional freezer on the premises. They also found stale chicken biryani and spoiled vegetables kept in cold storage, alongside egg mayonnaise stored under highly unsuitable temperature conditions. Additionally, the municipal team observed a complete lack of proper segregation among different food items.

Furthermore, a severe rodent infestation was documented inside the establishment. The inspecting team found active rat burrows and rodent droppings scattered throughout the raw material and packaging storage areas. There was also clear evidence of rodent damage to food packaging materials. These unsanitary conditions and safety hazards prompted the immediate suspension and closure order.

This enforcement action in Kondapur was carried out as part of a series of coordinated inspections conducted by the CMC food safety teams at various food establishments across the municipal limits on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. The authorities have reiterated that strict compliance with food safety and hygiene standards is non-negotiable for all food business operators in the region.
