CMC releases hygiene scores of 39 Hitec City and Gachibowli food establishments

The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) food safety team has released the hygiene scores of 39 food establishments across the region, including Hitec City, Gachibowli, and Kondapur, following inspections conducted in June. The scores revealed wide variations in food safety and hygiene standards, ranging from a high of 94% to a low of 18%.

The inspections resulted in the issuance of Improvement Notices and other enforcement measures for several poorly performing eateries, schools, and central kitchens. The food safety team assessed multiple aspects, including food handling practices, pest control measures, storage conditions, labelling, record maintenance, and overall compliance with Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) norms.

Five establishments achieved the highest score of 94%. These top performers included Chirec International School in Kondapur, The Gaudium School in Kollur, 10 Pounder Pizzeria near SMR Vinay Technopolis, PVR Inox at Inorbit Mall, and Cinepolis at Lulu Mall. Additionally, The Rameshwaram Cafe near Image Gardens scored 93%, while Sattibabu Biryani near KIMS in Kondapur secured 92%.

In contrast, Royal Spice Restaurant in Gachibowli recorded the lowest hygiene score of 18%. Other low-scoring establishments included Zayaka Food Court near AMB Mall with 25%, Platform 65 at PNR Empire with 37%, and Bahar Cafe in Madeenaguda with 40%. The Food Planet at Chandanagar in Lingampally scored 51%, Swagruha Foods at Gajularamaram received 54%, and The Spice Kitchen in PNR Empire scored 56%.

Several popular local eateries fell into the middle tier of the rankings. Mehfil Restaurant in Hitec City, La Pino’z Pizza in Jubilee Enclave, Ideal Kitchen in Madhapur, and Pancha Kattu Dosa in Nizampet each recorded a score of 67%. Shah Ghouse Restaurant on the Raidurg-Gachibowli Road and Protein Chef both received a score of 65%, while the Zomato Hyperpure warehouse in IDA Kukatpally scored 63%.

Other mid-range scores included KFC in Nizampet at 86%, Inox at GSM Mall in Madeenaguda at 85%, and Antera in Madeenaguda at 83%. KS Bakers, Chinese Wok at GSM Mall, and Glendale International School Cambridge in Gopanpally each recorded 82%.

The CMC food safety team collected food samples where necessary during the drive. Officials initiated regulatory enforcement actions and issued formal notices to those establishments found with significant hygiene deficiencies.
