CMC Identifies 38 Unauthorised Buildings After Anjaiah Nagar Collapse

Following a building collapse at Anjaiah Nagar in Hyderabad, the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) enforcement teams identified 38 unauthorised under-construction buildings on Monday during a targeted inspection drive.
Acting on the instructions of CMC Commissioner G Srijana, enforcement officials initiated immediate action across the identified sites. As part of the drive, the civic body served 28 unauthorised construction notices, seized one building, and demolished nine illegal structures.
The enforcement operation specifically focused on violations across two plot categories. For plots measuring below 75 square yards, teams targeted under-construction buildings exceeding 7 metres in height. For plots measuring above 75 square yards, authorities acted against under-construction buildings erected without valid building permissions, irrespective of their height.
According to officials, the unauthorised constructions were detected through a mix of citizen complaints and suo motu field inspections. The civic body is maintaining daily monitoring of all enforcement actions under the direction of the Commissioner to curb illegal construction activity in the area.
