CMC G Srijana Reviews Civic Grievances in Suraram Colony During Ward Visit

Cyberabad Municipal Commissioner G Srijana visited Suraram Colony in Hyderabad on Tuesday as part of the municipal administration's One Ward Every Day programme. During her visit to Suraram ward, the Commissioner interacted directly with local residents and members of Residents Welfare Associations to review pressing civic issues and outline local development priorities for the neighbourhood.

The interactive session was conducted alongside several key municipal officials, including the Zonal Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner, and departmental officers representing various civic wings. Together with the resident delegations, the administration surveyed the ward and evaluated the current condition of existing public infrastructure.

Local residents and welfare representatives raised multiple complaints regarding fundamental civic amenities during the interaction. Key infrastructural requirements submitted to the authorities included the improvement of local roads, the laying of cement concrete roads, and overall upgrades to internal ward infrastructure. Community members also emphasized the need for proper storm water drains, functional underground drainage systems, and adequate drinking water supply.

Public lighting and environmental upkeep were among the other prominent matters brought up by the residents. The community requested the installation and maintenance of standard streetlights alongside high mast lights at specified locations in Suraram ward. Demands were also raised for the development of public parks and the protection of open municipal spaces against unauthorized occupancy.

Further discussions during the programme touched upon the systematic removal of encroachments, the strengthening of local sanitation services, and better traffic management measures. Residents highlighted the need for speed breakers and enhanced public safety mechanisms on neighbourhood roads, while also appealing for improved community facilities, proper graveyard development, and regular maintenance of public amenities across the area.

In response to the grievances, Commissioner G Srijana instructed officials from the concerned departments to conduct on-ground inspections of all reported issues on a priority basis. She directed officers to prepare formal estimates wherever required and execute the necessary works in a phased manner to guarantee timely resolution of the civic problems in Suraram Colony.
