CMC Finds Hygiene Violations at Gopanpally, Kondapur and Kollur School Kitchens

On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, food safety teams from the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) conducted inspections at the kitchens of three prominent private schools in Gopanpally, Kondapur, and Kollur. The inspections, which marked an expansion of the municipal corporation's food safety checks beyond local restaurants, uncovered several hygiene lapses, improper storage practices, and licensing violations across the school premises.

During the drive, officials inspected Glendale International School in Gopanpally, Chirec International School in Kondapur, and The Gaudium School in Kollur. The teams identified multiple areas of non-compliance with health and safety standards in each of the kitchens visited.

At Glendale International School in Gopanpally, the inspection team observed patchy flooring with water stagnation in the washing area. Inspectors also found that food and non-food items were stored together without proper segregation, posing a risk of contamination. Additionally, the school's transport vehicle was operating without its FSSAI licence being produced during the inspection. The food safety officials also noted that dustbins in the kitchen lacked lids and found bananas stored near the washrooms without being placed on pallets.

At Chirec International School in Kondapur, the food safety officers identified issues related to maintenance and equipment. The inspection revealed that the lighting in one section of the school kitchen was inadequate and required improvement. The officials also noted that the air curtains of the walk-in chiller were dirty and needed cleaning. Furthermore, several chopping boards used in food preparation were found to be worn out and required immediate replacement.

At The Gaudium School in Kollur, inspectors flagged physical safety hazards and regulatory issues. The team found a slippery floor in the washing area of the kitchen. Additionally, upon reviewing the regulatory documentation, the officials discovered that the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) licence displayed on the premises actually belonged to another branch of the school rather than the Kollur campus.
