CMC Demolishes 47 Unauthorised Buildings Following Anjaiah Nagar Collapse

The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has identified 146 unauthorised buildings and demolished 47 of them over a three-day period across three zones, including Kukatpally, following a fatal building collapse in Anjaiah Nagar that killed two workers.
According to an official press statement, the town planning wing of the civic body conducted an extensive enforcement drive on Thursday. During the operation, officials identified 54 unauthorised buildings across Serilingampally, Kukatpally, and Quthbullapur zones.
Of the 54 unauthorised buildings identified during Thursday's drive, municipal squads demolished 21 structures. In addition to the demolitions, enforcement authorities served notices to 14 property owners and seized one unauthorised construction site.
A breakdown of Thursday's action shows that officials carried out nine demolitions in the Serilingampally zone. In the Kukatpally and Quthbullapur zones, municipal teams executed six demolitions in each jurisdiction.
Civic authorities stated that the remaining 33 cases identified on Thursday are being processed for further demolition and additional enforcement measures in accordance with applicable building regulations.
Municipal officials confirmed that the crackdown on illegal structures will continue across the zones to ensure strict compliance with building regulations, noting that all identified unauthorised constructions will face necessary administrative and enforcement action.
