CMC Clears 243 Encroachments Across Three Zones in 'Walk Free' Drive

The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) removed 243 encroachments across 16.55 kilometres of roads, footpaths, and public spaces during its weekly 'Walk Free' anti-encroachment drive on Saturday, August 22. The operation was carried out across three zones, including Kukatpally, Quthbullapur, and Serilingampally, to reclaim pedestrian walkways and clear public thoroughfares.
In the Kukatpally Zone, civic teams cleared 13 encroachments along a 3.8-kilometre stretch in Moosapet. The drive targeted unauthorised structures and obstacles occupying public roads and walkways.
The Quthbullapur Zone recorded the highest volume of clearance activity during the drive, with officials removing 122 encroachments across seven kilometres. Within the zone, 23 encroachments were cleared in Medchal, 20 in Gajularamaram, 18 in Jeedimetla, and 18 in Dundigal. Additionally, teams removed 16 encroachments in Nizampet, 15 in Chintal, and 12 in Kompally.
In the Serilingampally Zone, the civic authority removed 108 encroachments covering 5.75 kilometres. The highest count in this zone was recorded in Serilingampally circle with 35 removals, followed by Patancheru with 25 and Narsingi with 20. Removals were also executed in Miyapur, where 15 encroachments were cleared, and Ameenpur, which saw 13 removals.
CMC officials stated that while several key stretches were cleared during the weekend drive, scheduled operations on other identified stretches across the remaining circles had to be postponed. The pending drives were rescheduled due to the non-availability of police personnel required to assist during the clearance operations.
