CMC and HMWS&SB Chiefs Inspect Kollur STP and Lake Over Pollution Concerns

Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner G Srijana and Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) K Ashok Reddy conducted a joint inspection of the Kollur 2BHK Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and the Kollur Lake pollution complaint site in Hyderabad. The joint visit was carried out to directly review the functioning of the sewage treatment plant and assess the environmental concerns surrounding the lake.
The inspection was attended by a collaborative team of officials from multiple government departments. Key participants included representatives from the CMC Engineering division, the HMWS&SB, the Irrigation Department, the Housing Department, and the Patancheru Circle Sanitation Team.
During the joint inspection, the administrative chiefs and their teams reviewed the day-to-day functioning of the Kollur 2BHK Sewage Treatment Plant. They also assessed the specific pollution concerns that had been reported at Kollur Lake. The officials examined various measures that need to be implemented to improve wastewater management systems in the area and protect the surrounding natural environment.
Following the field assessment, the department heads issued directives to the attending officials. The concerned departments were instructed to coordinate closely with each other to address the issues. They were directed to take all necessary follow-up actions to ensure the effective resolution of the environmental and operational challenges identified during the inspection.
