CM Revanth Reddy's CPRO G Malsur Faces Criticism Over Gandhi Bhavan Meeting

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) G Malsur has courted controversy after attending a Congress party meeting at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad.

Objections have been raised by people across different sections over the participation of an official drawing a government salary in a political party meeting. The meeting was convened by Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, who recently took charge as the Chairman of the Congress party's Media and Publicity wing.

Malsur, who assumed charge as the Chief Minister's CPRO in June last year, attended the session where political communication strategies were discussed. Critics questioned how a serving official in the Chief Minister's Office could take part in internal party discussions and offer suggestions on political matters.

The controversy gathered momentum after Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy initially shared photographs of the meeting on social media platform X. In the original post, the MP wrote that he had a valuable interaction with Congress PRO Sri Hari Prasad and Telangana CMO CPRO G Malsur, discussing key political issues, strategies for handling debates and press conferences, and ways to develop content for public outreach.

Following public backlash and questions regarding the propriety of the CPRO attending a political strategy session at Gandhi Bhavan, the Bhongir MP deleted the post. He later uploaded a revised post that omitted Malsur's name and image, stating simply that he had led a discussion with Gandhi Bhavan PRO Hari Prasad and the media team.

Social media users have strongly objected to Malsur's presence at the party headquarters, describing it as an unethical practice, and have appealed to Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju to take note of the matter.
