CM Revanth Reddy to lay foundation for Rs 60,000 crore Amazon data centre

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will lay the foundation stone for a new ₹60,000-crore Amazon data centre in Bharat Future City on Wednesday. The mega project, which also includes development in Chandanvelly, marks one of the largest technology investments in the history of Telangana.
The upcoming facility is set to establish Hyderabad as home to one of the largest hyper-scale data centres in India. The project is expected to play a key role in driving economic development in the peri-urban region (PURE) of the state.
The groundwork for this investment began in January 2025, when Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held high-level discussions with Amazon’s management team at the World Economic Forum summit in Davos. During these talks, the state secured an in-principle commitment for the massive expansion.
Following the initial discussions, a formal framework agreement for the ₹60,000-crore investment was signed with Amazon in December 2025 during the Telangana Rising Global Summit. To facilitate the project, the state government allotted 202 acres of land to Amazon in Bharat Future City and an additional 98 acres in Chandanvelly.
To support the development, the Telangana state government has extended incentives and concessions worth ₹125 crore to the global technology firm.
The construction of the data centre will be executed in phases. The first phase of the project is scheduled to be completed within 24 months, while the remaining development works will be carried out over the next ten years. The total investment for Amazon's data centres in the state is projected to reach ₹60,000 crore.
Through this project, Amazon Web Services (AWS) aims to position Hyderabad as the country’s largest digital and cloud computing hub. The hyper-scale facilities are designed to strengthen the state's digital infrastructure, supporting artificial intelligence, cloud computing, e-commerce, digital banking, healthcare, startups, and government services.
State officials highlighted that Telangana’s available land, water, power, roads, policy support, and swift administrative processes continue to attract major global corporations to the region.
