CM Revanth Reddy to Inaugurate 1,082-Bed MCR TIMS Hospital in Sanathnagar

HYDERABAD — Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is scheduled to inaugurate the newly constructed Marri Chenna Reddy Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (MCR TIMS) in Sanathnagar on Monday, August 17, 2026. With 1,082 beds, the facility stands as the largest tertiary-care government hospital built in Telangana since the formation of the state in 2014.

Located along the stretch connecting SR Nagar and Erragadda, the hospital has been developed as a Centre of Excellence for cardiac, renal, transplant, and trauma sciences. Built at a cost of ₹1,126 crore, the medical complex is spread across 53.30 acres and encompasses a total built-up area of 11.68 lakh square feet.

The project originally received administrative sanction on April 21, 2022, followed by the foundation stone laying on April 26, 2022. The construction contract was awarded to Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Ltd. (MEIL), with ground work commencing on February 8, 2023.

The 1,082-bed capacity includes 300 intensive care unit (ICU) beds, 400 general beds, 88 emergency beds, and 30 dialysis beds. An additional 264 beds are designated for medical tourism, government employees, pensioners, and other categories.

The hospital infrastructure is divided across dedicated wings. The emergency block contains 388 beds, 15 major operating theatres, and specialised trauma and neuro critical-care units. The outpatient block houses 350 beds along with cath labs, general wards, and advanced diagnostic facilities, including endoscopy and bronchoscopy rooms, radiation oncology, and nuclear medicine services. The inpatient block accommodates another 300 beds.

The hospital will house 28 clinical departments spanning broad and super-specialities, including cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, nephrology, urology, organ transplantation, gastro sciences, neurology, neurosurgery, and orthopaedics. Nine additional departments, including medical oncology, surgical oncology, interventional radiology, transfusion medicine, and haematology, are also planned.

To support operations, the state government has sanctioned 2,360 posts, comprising 1,633 medical posts, 355 allied healthcare positions, and 372 non-medical roles. The Health Department has secured all 17 mandatory statutory clearances and licences, including the Fire NOC, occupancy certificate, environmental clearance, drug licences, and blood bank approvals.
