CM Revanth Reddy Mocks BJP Election Ambitions, Says Bengal Tactics Won't Work

On Tuesday, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy mocked the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) ambition to win the 2028 state assembly elections, asserting during a public address in Hyderabad that the tactics used by the party in West Bengal would not work in Telangana.
Speaking at the Rythu Bharosa Programme in Hyderabad, Reddy launched a sharp attack against BJP leader Nitin Nabin, who was on a three-day visit to the state. The Chief Minister's comments came in response to Nabin's earlier statement expressing confidence that the BJP would win the 2028 Telangana Assembly polls.
Taking a jibe at the BJP leader, Reddy remarked to the gathering that he was unfamiliar with Nabin's identity. "Recently, a guy came here, Nabin or whatever, I don’t really know his name," Reddy said.
The Chief Minister went on to compare the BJP's political strategies in Telangana to their long-term efforts in West Bengal. He claimed that while the BJP's tactics might have found some success against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, they would not succeed against the Congress leadership in Telangana.
"But he comes here and says the next government is theirs. You said the same thing about West Bengal. It took you 15 years to form a government in West Bengal. Over there, because it was Mamata Banerjee, your tricks might have worked. But here, all our guys are ready, and they will crush you," Reddy added.
The verbal clash has further escalated political tensions between the Congress and the BJP in the state. Earlier on Tuesday, Nabin announced that the BJP would launch a statewide agitation against the Congress-led Telangana government. The BJP leader alleged that the ruling administration has failed to fulfill the various promises it made to the electorate ahead of the state Assembly elections.
